How to Survive the Pluto – Saturn Tranist
The Aquarian Moon
Love, Venus and St. Valentine’s Day
Hello Friends
Welcome to the Aquarius New Moon newsletter which is produced monthly in time for each new moon.
The year is really just beginning. This co-incides with the Chinese New Year - 2010 The Year of the Tiger. Faster, lighter and freer than the heavy plodding ox of last year.

Aquarius Moon
People born with moon in Aquarius are often idealistic, intellectual more than emotional, imaginative and tuned into higher vibrations. They can be humanitarian and detached. They will quietly get on with some work that benefits the common good without taking the traumas too personally. They are often group-oriented and attracted to those who are on the 'road less travelled'.
Currently both Chiron and Neptune are transiting Aquarius. If any of your planets, including the moon is in Aquarius you will be feeling the winds of change.
HOW TO SURVIVE THE PLUTO/SATURN SQUARE
Pluto demolishes all before it as it clears the way for something new. Saturn helps stabilise and preserve the old. During the next couple of years these two giants are squaring up to each other. One forcing change, the other resisting. We can see this in the way the issue of climate change is being handled in the political and media arenas.
It is also very evident in the fierce economic tug-of war across the globe. No matter how much the old guard shore up the economy it seems Pluto is intent on flattening it in readiness for a new financial paradigm.
This is the archetypal energy that dominates as we enter the second decade of the 21st Century. People often ask: how is this going to effect me? We need to take three things (or 3000 things) into account before this question can be answered.
If you are living on a high vibration, in tune with the subtle energies of the universe and taking total responsibility for yourself then you will feel and respond to this transit at an energy level. The struggle will manifest within you and you will be aware of old ways collapsing in readiness for the new. Saturn is helping you to keep an even keel despite the tempestuous waters one is sailing in.
If all in your life is literal and you don’t spent too much time looking for the deeper meaning then you may get into bother with authority or something will happen to make you change your ways. The important thing is to look for the lesson for your soul if difficulties occur.
The Pluto-Saturn tug-of-war is real. This alignment is historically associated with war. Here we can see we have choice.
War is a choice. Peace is a choice. Which will we choose? Go with the same old, same old ways of dealing with dispute or step up to the plate and choose from a more enlightened position?
Donna Cunningham, a renowned astrologer, suggests the following guidelines to survive the Pluto/Saturn square:
- Take personal responsibility for any mess you've created. Don't blame the planets. Dust off your B.S. detector and use it.
- Remember Pluto and Saturn are archetypes. We can use them to let go of stress. We can surrender and let go of all the old ways that are past their ‘use by’ date.
Love, Venus and St. Valentine's Day
St Valentine's Day is the day when lovers celebrate their love. But did you know this special day is said to have originated in ancient Greece?
The fertility festival of Gamelion was held to celebrate the union of Zeus (Jupiter) and Hera (Juno). In Roman times it was called the Festival of Lupercalia. A highlight of the street celebrations was a lotto. Young ladies would place their name in an urn for the chance to win a night with the most eligible bachelor.
The placement of Jupiter and Juno in the astrological chart gives some indication of how we relate. Jupiter is expansive and generous, but can be a bit too generous with his affections to everybody. He doesn't play favourites. The legend of Juno indicates she was constant to Jupiter despite his many infidelities. She indicates loyalty and tenacity. And sometimes the tendency to stay in a relationship long past its shelf date.
